What I do

I head up Business Development at Charles Hunter Associates, working with organisations across Social Care and Early Years to help make recruitment a little less complicated.

A big part of my role is getting to know the organisations I work with – how they operate, what they’re trying to achieve and, importantly, what’s making recruitment difficult for them.

Rather than focusing on one vacancy at a time, I tend to look at the bigger picture. Once I understand the challenge, I bring together the right people from across Charles Hunter and build a recruitment solution around what the client actually needs.

What I can do for you

Recruitment challenges come in all shapes and sizes. You might be opening a new service, growing into a new area, struggling with a handful of particularly difficult roles or simply finding that your internal team doesn't have the time or resources to keep up with demand.

That’s where I can help.

Instead of coming to you with a standard agency pitch, I’ll have a conversation with you first. I want to understand what’s working, what isn’t and where we can genuinely make a difference.

From there, we can put a dedicated delivery team behind your requirements, using our specialists across permanent and temporary recruitment to give you the support you actually need.

Ultimately, my job is to make your life easier when it comes to recruitment.

Why Work with me

For me, the best client relationships are the ones where we can have open and honest conversations.

If I think we can help, I’ll explain how. If I don't think we're the right solution, I'll be upfront about that too.

I’ll take the time to understand your organisation rather than treating you as another vacancy on a job board, and I’ll stay involved throughout the relationship. That means bringing the right people from Charles Hunter into the conversation, keeping things moving and making sure we're accountable for what we've said we'll deliver.

This approach has helped us build successful partnerships with organisations ranging from growing care and education providers to some of the UK's largest local authorities.

I'm always looking for a long-term relationship rather than a quick placement.

About me

I’m naturally a strategic thinker and problem solver. I enjoy looking at the bigger picture, understanding why something isn't working and finding a practical way to solve it – which is probably why Business Development suits me so well.

Outside of Charles Hunter, I teach DJing to vulnerable children and young people. It’s something I really enjoy, but it has also given me first-hand experience of just how important the right support and the right people can be in a young person’s life. It gives me a personal connection to the sectors we recruit into and a genuine understanding that, particularly in Social Care and Early Years, recruitment isn't simply about filling a vacancy – the person you put into that role can have a real impact on someone's life.

Away from work and DJing, I'm very sociable and enjoy spending time with friends and family. Whether it's a social event, a good meal or just getting everyone together, I'm usually happiest when I'm around good people.
