Children's Social Worker

We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker to join a Family Placement Team.

Please note: To be considered for this role, you must hold a Social Work qualification and have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualified experience, gained within permanent Social Work roles.

About the team

The Family Placement Team is responsible for the recruitment, assessment, training, supervision and ongoing support of a wide range of foster carers supporting children and young people. This includes short-break carers, as well as temporary and long-term foster carers.

The team provides a responsive service to prospective carers and works closely with children's social workers and wider professionals to ensure children are placed in safe, stable and appropriate family environments. The role will also involve supporting carers through regular supervision, contributing to planning for children, group work, training, direct work with children and families, and completing fostering Form F assessments.

About you

A degree within Social Work (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Work. You will need strong experience working with children and families, with previous fostering or family placement experience highly desirable. You should have a good understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and safeguarding procedures, including Working Together, Child Protection procedures and Looked After Children processes.

A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
