Homelessness Project Officer (fully remote)

We are looking for a Rough Sleeping Snapshot Estimates Project Officer to join a national homelessness charity on a short-term, fully home-based contract from 5th November 2026 to 9th December 2026.

Please do not apply if you do not have:

• Advanced, hands-on experience of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent verbal communication skills - You will be making phone calls regularly.
• Prior experience in a similar role, such as data quality assurance, auditing or telephone-based compliance work.
• Experience of working with councils or other large organisations.
• The ability to touch type accurately while listening and taking notes.

About the role

• Support the Project Coordinator in completing telephone quality assurance and online certification of rough sleeping snapshot estimates for all Local Authorities in England.
• Contact Local Authority leads and count coordinators by telephone and email, talking through a structured Quality Assurance Form and asking questions based on national guidance.
• Take accurate notes in real time during calls, then complete Quality Assurance Forms fully, clearly and coherently so they can be relied upon without re-checking.
• Respond to Local Authority enquiries about the process, escalating cases where authorities do not respond or are not following the guidance.
• Check information on the online DELTA system against internal records (no prior knowledge required).
• Keep a daily record of progress and help compile weekly updates.

About you

You will be highly organised, able to manage information across multiple sources under time pressure, and confident challenging Local Authorities where necessary. Strong written skills are essential, as your summaries must be clear and accurate first time. An awareness of how Local Authorities and the voluntary sector respond to rough sleeping in England is desirable.

This is a time-sensitive project, so you must be available every working day for the full contract.
