Safeguarding Adults Manager

We are looking for a Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) to join an Adult Safeguarding Team in North London.

This role requires a Social Work Qualification with significant post-qualified experience, including safeguarding and staff supervision.

About the team

• Chair and oversee Section 42 safeguarding enquiries - taking the decision on whether the s.42(1) duty is met, directing the enquiry, and signing off outcomes to ensure they are proportionate, defensible and compliant with the Care Act 2014.
• Triage and screen safeguarding concerns as they come through the front door, making timely decisions on threshold and the appropriate response, and prioritising by risk.
• Manage, supervise and support staff - providing case supervision, guidance and quality assurance to social workers and practitioners undertaking enquiries, and supporting their development.
• Apply Making Safeguarding Personal throughout, ensuring the adult's own desired outcomes remain central, that they are supported to participate, and that advocacy is arranged where needed.
• Manage risk and chair safeguarding meetings - leading strategy discussions and planning meetings, coordinating multi-agency responses, and overseeing risk management and safeguarding plans in complex cases.
• Work in partnership with health, police, providers and other agencies, maintaining accurate records and reports to evidence decision-making and inform the Safeguarding Adults Board.

About you

A degree within Social Work (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) is essential, with substantial post-qualified experience in adult safeguarding. Experience chairing Section 42 enquiries and supervising or supporting other practitioners is essential. Experience within a front door, duty or fast-paced adults setting is desirable.
