Children's Therapeutic Support Worker

My client is expanding its specialist children's residential services to provide more high-quality homes for local children in care. They are looking to recruit compassionate and dedicated Therapeutic Support Workers to join a specialist Learning Disabilities (LD) and Physical Disabilities (PD) children's home in Dartington.

This home provides a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children and young people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, complex health needs, and additional communication needs. Every day is focused on helping each child build independence, develop life skills, and achieve the best possible outcomes through person-centred care.

Whether you already have experience supporting children or adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, or complex needs, or you've worked in residential children's homes, SEN schools, youth work, healthcare, care settings, or hold a degree in psychology, sociology, or a related subject, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Therapeutic Support Worker, you will:

• Provide person-centred, therapeutic support to children and young people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex needs.
• Support children with their daily routines, personal care (where required), mobility, communication, and independence skills.
• Create fun, engaging, and meaningful activities tailored to each child's interests, abilities, and developmental goals.
• Build trusting relationships that promote emotional wellbeing, confidence, and resilience.
• Work alongside therapists, education professionals, healthcare teams, and families to deliver holistic care.
• Be a positive role model, promoting inclusion, dignity, choice, and independence at every opportunity.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued, respected, and supported to thrive.

The role is based in Dartington, and interviews are taking place this month.
