Residential Support Worker - Nottinghamshire

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people? Whether you have previous experience in residential care or are looking to start a rewarding new career, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We're recruiting Residential Support Workers on behalf of a well-established charity supporting children and young people in Worksop nd Newark on trent.

As part of a dedicated residential team, you'll support children and young people aged 5-18 who have experienced significant childhood trauma, including neglect, domestic abuse, exploitation, and violence. You'll help provide a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where young people can build confidence, develop life skills, and work towards a brighter future.

About the Role

This is more than just a job-it's an opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact every day.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Support daily routines, education, and recreational activities
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, independence, and personal development
  • Maintain a safe, caring, and supportive home environment
  • Work closely with colleagues and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people

Due to the nature of residential care, flexibility is essential. The role includes:

  • Long shifts, including occasional 24-hour shifts
  • Overnight sleep-in duties
  • Alternate weekend working
  • Remaining beyond your scheduled finish time when required to ensure safe handovers and continuity of care

Looking for your next step? We also have opportunities available for experienced Residential Support Workers seeking a more senior role.

What We Offer

  • Salary of £32,908 per annum (including two sleep-in shifts per week)
  • 39-hour contracted week (45-hour contracts available in selected homes)
  • Comprehensive induction, training, and ongoing professional development
  • Clear career progression opportunities
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • The opportunity to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of children and young people

What We're Looking For

We're looking for caring, resilient, and motivated individuals who are committed to helping young people reach their full potential.

You'll ideally have:

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people
  • Flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including weekends and sleep-in shifts
  • Emotional resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • An open, honest, and reflective approach to your work
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential - full training is provided
  • A full UK driving licence
