Social Worker - Fostering Service

A Local Authority in Northeast London is looking for a Social Worker to join their Fostering Team. This is a Locum Social Work role.

The ideal Social Worker will have previous experience in a Fostering environment dealing with both assessment and Foster Carer support. The key to success in this role is to be able to start the contract confidently with little need for supervision.

Your responsibilities as a Fostering Social Worker:

• Be a part of supervisory meetings with either Team Managers or Senior Social Workers regularly to monitor progress and identify development needs
• Be able to bring cases to panel confidently when needed
• Complete relevant fostering assessments when vetting prospective Foster Carers
• Support foster carers through the process of fostering a child, providing out of hours support if necessary
• Maintain strong contact with them as necessary

Requirements of you as a Fostering Social Worker:

• A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
• A valid Social Work England registration
• Have competent knowledge and experience of Fostering work
• A valid UK driving licence and vehicle is preferred for this role

Location: Walthamstow, London

Umbrella pay rate: up to £35.00 per hour
