Social Worker - Early Help (Edge of Care) Team

The Role

A Local Authority is looking for a Social Worker in the South Essex area. Working to support Children and Young People to feel safe and secure. This role will be in the Early Help (Edge of Care) Team.

This is for a full-time, permanent position. The ideal Social Worker will have relevant post qualification experience within a working in a MASH Team. The right candidate should be dedicated and have the passion to align with this Local Authority goals.

This team works on a rota system that will require some evening and weekend working between the hours of 8am-11pm.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide prevention support for children and young people (aged 11-17) on the edge of care.
• Preventative work with a child-focused approach stepping in before imminent or potential risk of the child needing to become looked after.
• Strong assessment capability and planning and supporting a child or young person's return home.
• Ensuring families can achieve positive, sustainable behaviour changes that support and protect the child.
• Providing rapid response to children, young people and families in crisis.
• Prevent cases being escalated to referral proceedings.

Skills and Qualifications Required

• A Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW/CSS or equivalent).
• A valid registration with Social Work England Registration.
• Need to have completed ASYE.
• Experienced in working with children in a statutory setting and undertaking direct work with disabled children and young people.
• Full UK Driving Licence and the ability to be mobile.
