My role as the Candidate & Compliance Consultant at Charles Hunter Associates involves ensuring that compliance with every candidate we work with is of the highest standard possible. Due to the nature of the sector we work with, compliance is of the utmost importance as locum social workers need to be cleared before being put in the positions of care with vulnerable children and adults.
It is my responsibility to communicate with candidates and consultants any changes to policies and procedures, to carry out regular audits on all files, to complete Enhanced DBS checks, HCPC checks, and to collect references amongst much more.
Since joining the company, my biggest achievement is passing the coveted Compliance+ audit in July 2016. Compliance+ provides an industry-wide best practice benchmark for social work recruitment agencies, which sets the standard for providing high quality staff whilst ensuring that the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults is a priority.
Compliance is incredibly important to us as a business as we’ve worked hard to make an essential part of working with locum social workers as effective and streamlined as possible, and I love being a big part of the successful process we provide.
When it was mentioned that Charles Hunter Associates were applying for the Recruiter Award for ‘Most Effective Compliance Operation’, I was hopeful for our entry as I’m confident in our internal process. When we found out we’re part of the shortlist, we were over the moon! This is our first time on the Recruiter Award shortlist, and I’m proud that our recognition has been for something as important as compliance.
We’ll find out if we’re winners of the award at the ceremony on Wednesday 3rdMay. It’s great to be recognised and we’re really looking forward to the night. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
