Job description

A Kent-based Local Authority is looking for a Team Manager to join their Children in Care Service. As the team manager, you will have overall operational management responsibilities for four teams within the children's social work team. This role is a full-time, and permanent position.

You will be joining this local authority's vision of supporting Children and Young people to make them feel safe and secure. As the ideal team manager, you will need to have leadership and management experience within a children's social work team. You will need to be committed and have the drive to match this Local Authority's ambitions.

Your responsibilities as the Team Manager:

  • Lead, manage and motivate staff
  • Manage team budgets effectively
  • Manage and oversee the performance of the team
  • Support the safer recruitment and selection of new staff

Requirements of you as the Team Manager:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
  • Valid registration with Social Work England
  • Significant experience of working within Children and Families Teams
  • Leadership and management experience
  • Experience of working within child protection and court work
  • Must hold a full UK Driving Licence

Salary: up to £48,658 plus £4,000 market premia + £3,000 retention payment
