A Local Authority in Brent is looking for a Head of Service within Adults Social Work to join their Access Information and Long-Term Support Team on a locum basis, offering a competitive pay rate of up to £56.00 per hour.

Responsibilities of you as a Head of Service:

Work collegiately with colleagues on the Departmental Management Team (DMT), and make a proactive contribution delivering departmental and corporate objectives.

Lead and manage a portfolio of customer focused services in alignment with both corporate and departmental aims and priorities.

Work closely with the Operational Director of Adult Social Care to support effective working relationships with relevant portfolio holders.

Direct line management for the Long Term Support Teams and the care management functions covering Assessment care planning and review, the Access and Information Team and Direct Services

Responsible for the quality of assessments, reviews and support plans across the teams ensuring they meet statutory requirements meet the needs of customers while also ensuring they drive value for money throughout the department.

Provide challenge within the teams but also across the department to develop the services that underpin these teams and make them a success, for example, constant improvements in the delivery of Continuing Health Care processes, Self-Neglect policy, housing allocations.

Departmental lead for key partnerships including CHC, ICP, carers board and the dementia steering group.

Responsible for achieving national, local and team performance targets, with a view of improving the quality of service delivery.

Lead the annual planning, monitoring and review cycle across the designated service area budget and other resources to enable the development of a cost effective business plan which meets the council's financial and performance targets.

Chairing Quality Assurance Meetings which allocate funds for high cost placements and ensure the quality of the assessments and support plans for those cases.

Requirements of you as a Head of Service:

• A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
• A valid Social Work England registration
• Experience as a Head of Service
