Service Manager

A Local Authority in Hertfordshire is looking for a Service Manager within Childrens Social Work to join their Safeguarding Team on a locum basis, offering a competitive pay rate of up to £500 per day.

Responsibilities of you as a Service Manager:

• The Hertfordshire Family Safeguarding (HFS) model of practice is an innovative child protection model developed in Hertfordshire, effective in keeping more children safely within their families and helping parents to achieve lasting change.
• With a multidisciplinary teams approach, using motivational interviewing, we take a holistic view to the help and support required by a family to improve the lives of children and young people, working with families to address the challenges they are experiencing.
• The overall aim is to bring about long-term change within families which is driven by the parents themselves and is therefore likely to be more sustainable.
• We are a service motivated by and dedicated to continuously improving social work practice.
• We aim to support individuals to be an influential and active member of their community by promoting true citizenship.
• You will be responsible for a number of Family Safeguarding Teams, with direct line management of Team Managers.
• You will provide expert advice and guidance in relation to decision making and care planning for children supported by Child In Need plans, Child Protection Plans and families within Care proceedings.

Requirements of you as a Service Manager:

• A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
• A valid Social Work England registration
• Experience in Management
