Senior Social Worker

We are looking for a Senior Social Worker to join an Emergency Duty Team.

This role requires a Social Work Qualification with a minimum of 2 years post qualified experience.

About the team

This team is the Local Authority's Out of Hours point of contact for anyone who has immediate concerns about the safety and protection of a child, young person or vulnerable adult. They ensure Local Authority statutory responsibilities are within the Children Act 1989 and the Mental Health Act 1983 guidelines. The majority of the work is Child Protection and urgent Mental Health Act assessments and working closely with the police and health protection partners, ensuring the provision of an effective and comprehensive service.

About you

A degree within Social Work (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with a minimum of two years' experience, HCPC registration and holds an approved Mental Health Professional award. Excellent assessment and prioritisation skills and using these to instigate timely interventions. Previous experience preparing and submitting emergency court applications out of hours and representing the Council to ensure the protection and welfare of all children and vulnerable adults.
