A Local Authority is looking for a Senior Parenting Assessor to be part of the Children in Need Team for the office based in North West London.
The Children in Need Service is currently seeking a Senior Parenting Assessor to undertake Parenting Assessments and Viability Assessments alongside developing the skills, expertise and knowledge of social workers completing court assessments.
The primary role will be to complete high-quality assessments, but it will also include some management of social workers around specific court and PLO tasks across the service (approx. 60 staff). This will include supervising some social workers on assessments required for court, with the responsibility for ensuring that the reports are completed to a high standard.
The Senior Parenting Assessor will also provide consultation, coaching and mentoring within the service.
In order to allow for independence in assessments, the post holder will be responsible for undertaking assessments while overall case responsibility will be retained by the allocated social worker. The post holder will be line managed by the Care Proceedings Case Manager who is based within the Children in Need Service.
You will join a lively service with staff who are passionate about the work they do to safeguard and support children and young people. My client has a strong reputation within the court arena and is at the forefront of developing work within PLO pre-proceedings. You will contribute to driving improvement for some of our most vulnerable children as achieving good outcomes for children is at the heart of all we do. You will be able to support Harrow's ambition to be an outstanding local authority and build on our strength in children's social work.
