Looked After Children Social Worker

A local authority is looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their Looked After Children Team. This is a full-time, permanent position paying up to £47,420, based around Swindon. Within this role there are lots of opportunities to build meaningful relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals.

Responsibilities for you as a Looked After Children Social Worker:

• Supporting Children through a new Family Safeguarding model
• To advise, guide and support colleagues to meet legal, procedure and practice requirements.
• To write reports for court hearings and to present evidence in court
• To participate in Practice Education Professional Standards (PEPS) training and undertake placement supervision of student social workers.
• Be an ambassador for the Council and the department at all times

Requirements for you as a Looked After Children Social Worker:

• Social Work Degree / Diploma in Social Work
• Social Work England Registration
• Post qualifying experience working with Looked After Children or Care Experienced Young People.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence
• A working knowledge and understanding of relevant Social Work legislation and regulations

Location: Swindon

Salary scale: £40,403 - £42,403 (Depending on Experience) + Benefits
