Job description
A Local Authority in Kent are looking for a Locum Social Work Team Manager to join their Referral and Assessment Team.
The ideal manager will have knowledge and experience of managing a team as well as experience working in a Referral and Assessment team or similar. .
The key to success in this role is to be able to lead, motivate, nurture, and manage a team. You will be expected to demonstrate relevant theoretical Social Work concepts, practices and detailed organisational knowledge relating to the provision of a professional Social Work service.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Locum Social Worker:
- Managing a team that complete assessments and direct work to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
- Having strategy discussions, safety planning, attending child protection conference reviews, children looked after reviews and child in need reviews.
- Investigating concerns regarding a child or young person's safety or wellbeing, assessing risk and protective factors in the family and decide on the most appropriate course of action
- Building effective relationships with children and families and working collaboratively with our partner agencies.
Requirements of the Locum social worker:
- Social Work England registration
- Clear enhanced DBS
- Full UK driving license and access to a car
- Social Work qualification and a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience
- Team Manager experience
Pay rate: £44 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: Medway
