Young Persons Support Worker required to work with Young People who have transitioned from Care into Supported Living services across Reading. This Support Work position requires an immediate interim candidate who is willing to commit for 2-3 months, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm and 11am - 7pm mixed shifts.

The role will involve helping clients to develop their skills in preparation for them to live independently. The Young Persons Support Worker will be working with clients to help them identify and access training, education and employment opportunities. This will include IT work, database recording as well as working with clients with emotional support.

Driving licence and car essential

Experience Required -

  • Working with Young Adults who are Care Leavers
  • Assessing clients' needs
  • Managing shared and supported housing projects
  • Working with Challenging behaviour
  • Managing conflict, set boundaries, challenge appropriately
  • Understanding, assessing and dealing with safeguarding issues

Duties -

  • Supporting the Young People with budgeting, shopping allocation, keeping their properties clean
  • Support the Young People to live independently
  • Key Working
  • Liaising with Care professionals, and when required social workers and the police
  • Writing reports
  • Following Care Plans
  • Basic DIY
