Young People's Support Worker required in Swindon for an immediate contract with a Young Persons Semi Independent living service. The Young People's Support Worker would be required to support vulnerable young people who have transitioned from Care to Independent living. The Young People have high support needs and require an experienced Support Worker who can offer effective solutions to complex problems.

Hours Required - 20:00 - 23:00 PLUS Sleep in and 07:00 - 21:00 the next day. These hours need to be covered from Monday to Sunday and the applicant must commit to a minimum of 3 shifts a week.

We need Support Workers with experience and understanding of:

  • Working with Young Adults
  • Children in need
  • Looked after Children
  • Section 17
  • Child Protection Orders
  • Care Leavers
  • Mental Health Conditions
  • Substance Abuse
  • High risk behaviours
  • Challenging Behaviour
  • Drug and Alcohol abuse

Duties -

  • Supporting the Young People with budgeting, shopping allocation, keeping their properties clean
  • Support the Young People to live independently
  • Key Working
  • Liaising with Care professionals, and when required social workers and the police
  • Writing reports
  • Following Care Plans
