We are looking for an experienced Weekend Support Worker to join a supported living service for adults aged 18-65 with a learning disability, autism, epilepsy, and some mild physical disability.

This location is based next to Newbury train station, local bus routes and has free parking for car drivers.

This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated carers who are able to increase the independence of the services users and enable them to have as much independence as possible whilst ensuring they are safe at all times.

Your responsibilities as the Support Worker:

  • Working closely to specially prepared personal care plans
  • Helping residents get washed and dressed ready for the day
  • Assisting with medication administration
  • Helping residents with their laundry, keeping their rooms neat and tidy
  • Assisting with resident weekly shopping
  • Delivering a high standard of care
  • Shadowing residents to college, town and other activities

Requirements of you as the Support Worker:

  • Experience working within a supported living environment
  • Good level of written or oral English
  • Good use of literacy and numeracy to ensure accurate completion of care plans and to follow medication timetables
  • NVQ level 2-3 desirable
  • Manual Handling, First Aid, Medication Administration, Epilepsy and Food Hygiene Training

Location: Newbury

Salary: £8.50 - £10.30 per hour
