Weekend staff required for a young care leavers service in Reading. You would be required to work across 3 homes that house young care leavers 16+ years.


Saturday 07:30-14:30/14:30-22:00 plus sleep-in 22:00-07:30am

Sunday 07:30-14:30/14:30-22:00 plus sleep-in 22:00-07:30am

The ideal applicant will have had previous experience working with young people, or children with challenging behaviour.

Your responsibilities as the Support Worker:

  • Following care plans
  • One to one support sessions (key working)
  • Strict observations and record keeping
  • Working with other care professionals i.e social workers
  • Communicating with the young people and encouraging independence
  • Encouraging healthy eating, good hygiene, budgeting
  • Meal prep, food shopping, accompanying young people to appointments in the community
  • Job applications, CV writing

Requirements of you as the Support Worker:

  • NVQ level 3 or above desirable
  • Enhanced child and adult DBS
  • Have good communication skills, and good written and spoken English

Salary: £9.00-£11.00 per hour
