Support Worker required to work with an advanced woman's community project. Supporting vulnerable and disadvantage women. Some will have complex needs tracing back to housing and homelessness, substance abuse, alcohol abuse, mental health, learning difficulties, domestic violence and sex working. Working as a support worker you will have the great opportunity to join an expanding service in Reading. As the support worker you will be required to work 1:1 with the women, mentoring, listening, increasing their independence and building on their life skills. As a support worker you will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work well on your own and as part of a team.

Full time Support Worker needed 37 hours

Your responsibilities as the Support Worker:

  • To work as part of a team but also be able to work confidently independently
  • To provide 1:1 support
  • To help women over come barriers that they may have developed in their lives
  • To maintain thorough record keeping
  • To provide support when and where it is needed within our semi-independent services
  • To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to in the correct way
  • To keep thorough, confidential and up to date records for effective and efficient working

Requirements of you as the Support Worker:

  • NVQ level 4 or above desirable
  • Experience of working with similar clients outlined above
  • Enhanced child and adult DBS
  • Car Driver desirable
  • Have good communication skills, and good written and spoken English

Location: Reading, Berkshire

Salary: £10.50 - £12.00
