My client is seeking experienced Support Workers to care for individuals at their Residential Home in Thatcham to become an integral addition to their workforce supporting and caring for Adults with learning disabilities.

Shift patterns:

  • Earlies: 7.00 - 14.30 / 9.30 - 17.00 / 12.00 - 19.30
  • Lates: 14.00 - 21.30
  • Waking Nights: 21.00 - 7.00


  • £9-£12 per hour (subject to payment and shift type)

Requirements for you as the Support Worker:

  • Enhanced DBS (on the update service)
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults with challenging behaviours and learning disabilities including Autism would be desirable
  • Experience within a residential care environment still promoting independence
  • Excellent communication skills including reading and writing
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to learn and pick up tasks quickly
  • Encouraging and supportive attitude with a willingness to be part of a team
  • Considerate and flexible with working hours /days
  • Up-to-date mandatory training*
  • Valid UK Driver with access to a car is desirable due to limited public transport links

Responsibilities for you as the Support worker:

  • Supporting service users with daily needs such as personal care
  • Working closely with service users, staff, families and other relevant professionals
  • Following service user care plans
  • Consistently promoting independence to service users
