We are seeking experienced support workers to join a service for disabled children and young people aged 6 - 25 years based in Henley-on-Thames. You will be working with children and young people with complex medical needs and profound learning disabilities or physical disabilities.

The client is looking for someone who has lots of energy, can be vigilant at all times and is prepared to step in where necessary.

Previous experience working with this client group is essential.


Days: Hours Monday - Sunday between 07:00-22:00

Waking Nights 22:00 - 07:00

Your responsibilities as the Support Worker:

  • Assist families who care for children with a complex medical need, profound learning disability or physical disability
  • Interacting with the children during activity sessions
  • Working closely with other professionals
  • Taking groups out into the community for away days
  • During the night being vigilant and responding to any calls
  • Manual Handling including hoisting

Requirements of you as the Support Worker:

  • NVQ level 3 or above desirable
  • Must have experience working with children and young people with complex needs
  • Experience working with autism, epilepsy and challenging behaviour desirable
  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS
  • Have good communication skills, and good written and spoken English

Location: Henley-On-Thames

Salary: £8.50 - £10.00
