We are currently seeking experienced Support Assistants to work in a well-known College based in Newbury. You will be working with young people with challenging behaviour, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, ADHD and autism.

The ideal candidate must have experience working with young people, ideally within an educational based setting.

Please not that this position is term time only.

Hours:

08:50am - 15:10pm Monday - Friday

Your responsibilities as the Support Assistant:

  • Working one to one or two to one with students with a variety of learning difficulties
  • Ensuring the safety of the students at all times
  • Working closely with other work professionals such as teachers and social workers
  • Assisting students with activities and their learning and development
  • Encouraging positive behaviours

Requirements of you as the Support Worker:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting
  • Experience working with young people with a multitude of learning difficulties
  • Good level of written or oral English
  • Good use of literacy and numeracy to ensure accurate record keeping
  • NVQ level 2-3 desirable
  • Manual Handling, First Aid, Medication Administration, Epilepsy and Food Hygiene Training
