Supervising Social Worker - East of Scotland

A negotiable salary dependent on experience + terrific benefits

Independent Fostering Agency requires a Supervising Social Worker to provide a positive and stable environment for children and young people who have had a difficult start to life.

To be a successful candidate, you will need to be fully committed to the role and organisation and possess and infectious personality. This organisation invests heavily in their staff and are looking for a member of staff that will be coming in to help them continue their devlopment as an Independent Fostering Agency.

Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Supervising foster carers by make sure they fully understand the fostering task as well as the agencies policies and procedures
  • Promoting the welfare of children placed with foster carers
  • Completing assessments using the BAAF Form F
  • Attending regulate meetings and reviews on behalf of the agency within the decision process


  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
  • Registered with the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC)
  • Significant experience of working as a Qualified Social Worker within Children and Families
  • Experience of Fostering
  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of the current legislations and frameworks relevant to Children Social Care, Fostering and Adoption including the Children's Act 1989 and its application to Social Work practice.
  • Must hold a full UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle to travel to other areas.
  • Be willing to participate in an out of hours' rota and undertake assessments
