What are the responsibilities of an Assessments Social Worker?

  • Assess Children and their Families who may require Social Work service
  • Draw up plans with and for individual children and their families
  • Undertake preventative work with families in order to reduce the need for care or accommodation.
  • Work with children and young people, families, carers and communities to help them make informed decisions, enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to service planning.
  • Provide a high quality and effective social work service to respond to the needs of children and their families within statutory guidelines.

Requirements for an Assessments Social Worker?

  • Experience in completing Child and Family Assessments in a timely and comprehensive manner.
  • A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • A valid HCPC registration
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the current legislation relevant to Children's Social Care.
  • A current enhanced DBS
