The London Borough of Waltham Forest is looking for an experienced and dedicated Locum Advanced Practitioner to join their busy Looked After Childrens and Care Leavers team. Waltham Forest is a highly reputable and culturally diverse council, with great transport links across the city.

What are the responsibilities of a Locum LAC/LC Advanced Practitioner?

  • Lead a Practice Support Group operating as a Social Work unit of multi-disciplinary staff. The social workers within the PSG manage a range of children in care and leaving care cases which range in complexity.
  • Supervise cases as part of regular group supervision and support colleagues in the PSG reporting to the Team Manager
  • Hold accountability for ensuring the safety of the children and young people allocated to the PSG.

What are the requirements of a Locum LAC/LC Advanced Practitioner?

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with a minimum of 2 years' experience and experience of supervising cases.
  • A valid HCPC registration
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the current legislation relevant to Children's Social Care
  • Experience of working within a LAC and LC team
  • As the Social Worker, you must hold a full UK Driving License and have access to a vehicle to travel to other areas
  • A current enhanced DBS
