A rewarding opportunity for dedicated and experienced support workers to join an expanding supported living service in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. You would be offered a salary of £15,000+ (plus £3,000 for sleep-ins and monthly pay top-ups).

You would be working with a leading provider of care in Cheltenham supporting adults with autism, learning difficulties and mental health needs. You would be supporting individuals with a variety of complex needs and challenging behaviour on a day-to-day basis.

This service allows individuals to live independently in their own homes with the appropriate level of support. The organisation offers a diverse range of accommodation, from individual flats to house shares, to cater for all needs. All service users hold their own tenancy agreements, with the organisation helping them to manager their own accommodation through landlords or housing schemes.

We therefore require a passionate support worker to give exceptional care to all service users whilst encouraging independence.

The Senior Support Worker's responsibilities include

  • Leading and directing the support worker team to ensure high standards
  • Facilitating good communication within all levels of the staff team
  • Assisting in the organisation and monitoring of the service in conjunction with the Manager
  • Acting as a positive role model and member of the care team
  • Protecting and promoting the interests of the service users
  • Delivering person-centred support to service users in accordance with CQC standards
  • Encouraging the independence of the service users
  • Appropriately responding to each individual's needs in accordance with their care plans and risk assessments
  • Effective communication with all senior staff including Team Leaders/Deputy Management

A Senior Support Worker will have

  • NVQ Level 2/3 Health and Social Care
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in care environment
  • A genuine interest and passion for working with individuals with varying disabilities and complex needs
  • Driving licence preferred

Must be available to work shifts on weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins. The role offers full training and progression opportunities.
