Role/Responsibilities

As the Senior Support Worker, your role is to act as role model to the staff team and children and young people. Below is a list of some of the responsibilities to give you a general understanding of the Senior Support Worker position.
Act as positive role model for the staff & young people

  • To provide support and encouragement to staff offering advice, guidance and assistance
  • To ensure effective, positive communication within the team and promote best practice
  • Manage and lead a team of Support Workers monitoring performance, identifying development needs and supporting where needed

Requirements

As the Senior Support Worker, you must have:

  • Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce *or equivalent*
  • Minimum 1 year or more of experience working as a Senior/Team leader in residential care environment
  • Ability to interact with a range of young people
  • Ability to lead a team and to work as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of young people and the issues and behaviours they struggle with
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and sleep ins
