Charles Hunter Associates are currently assisting a highly reputable local authority to recruit for a permanent Senior Social Worker to join their team in the county of Surrey. This role is full-time, and permanent, and they offer an extensive list of benefits, along with their competitive salary of up to £41,000.

This local authority is currently looking for an enthusiastic and Senior Social Worker who can effectively manage a complex caseload of clients with severe and enduring mental health needs whilst assessing the social care needs of individuals to deliver comprehensive care plans to meet specific needs.

Your responsibilities as the Supervising Social Worker:

  • Responding to safeguarding enquiries within complex scenarios,
  • you will use your professional judgement and apply a range of interventions where necessary.
  • Your applied knowledge of the 'Care Act' and the 'Mental Capacity Act' will enable you to deliver an exceptional service to Surrey residents.
  • Leadership skills in developing the team around you,
  • Providing reflective supervision, guidance and advice to less experienced Social Workers and unqualified staff members, including those completing ASYE and social work students.
  • Experience of working within Adult Social Care and a range of clients/stakeholders
  • Ability to carry out casework management, assessments, support planning, reviews with a sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Requirements of you as the Supervising Social Worker:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification having a least 3 years' experience of managing caseloads in social care or multi - agency community settings (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
  • A valid HCPC registration
  • Significant experience of working within Looked After Children
  • Experience of working within Fostering
  • Must hold a full UK Driving Licence
