A regionally based Independent Fostering Agency requires a Senior Practitioner for their highly reputable Fostering team in South East London. As Senior Practitioner, you will be working closely alongside the Team Manager to ensure effective and efficient Delivery and ongoing development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting, training, assessing and supporting Foster Carers
  • As the Senior Practitioner, you will be providing safe placements for foster children and young people
  • Making sure the Legislation, guidance and Policies of the organisation are followed
  • Working with and building relationships with placing authorities
  • As the Senior Practitioner, you will be updating Form F and foster carers professional development needs
  • Supervising staff
  • Attend and produce reports


  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
  • A valid HCPC registration
  • Significant experience of working as a Qualified Social Worker within Children and Families teams
  • Significant experience within Fostering
  • As the Senior Practitioner, you will be willing to participate in undertake assessments
  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of the current legislation and frameworks relevant to Children Social Care, Fostering and Adoption
  • Must hold a full UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle to travel to other areas
