Senior Practitioner - Adoption Glasgow

A negtioable salary dependent on experience + terrific benefits (Part time: 29 hours per week)

This is a great opportunity to become an integral part of a large well-established children's charity as a Senior Practitioner for their Adoption team.

You will be to be enthusiastic and committed as you will play a key role in the future growth of the organisation as the organisation continues to provide high quality services. The candidate will need to have proven success whilst working within Adoption and show that they are committed to an organisation that will be committed to them.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with children, young people and their families, on a one to one or group basis, using a variety of interventions, to identify needs and to achieve positive outcomesÂ
  • Dealing with complex case loads
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers to empower them and to enable them to achieve better outcomes for their children
  • Work co-operatively with other professionals in children's services, health agencies and other community based services, to provide the most effective service for children young people and families
  • Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures and to report as necessary


  • You will hold a valid Social Work qualification (DipSW/CQSW)
  • You will have a valid SSSC registration
  • You will have significant experience of working within Adoption
  • You will have experience of working in Children's Social Work through-out your career
  • To have an extensive working knowledge and understanding of the current legislations and frameworks with regards to Childrens Social Work and Adoption
