Team Leader / Senior Care Assistant

3-month contract (initially)

Full time / 37.5 hours a week

Monday - Friday (ad-hoc / every other weekend)

Reading, Berkshire

Rates: £12.00-£16.00 per hour (subject to payment and shift type)

Shift Patterns: 7.30 - 15.00 / 14.45 - 22.00 / 7.30 - 22.00

Are you an experienced Support Worker and Team Leader looking for a new opportunity within Berkshire?

I am seeking an experienced and professional individual for an urgent need within a supported living service in Reading. The service supports young adults who have a range of complex needs and learning disabilities. The role therefore requires a knowledgeable and confident Senior Support worker with the ability to lead from the front with daily service and service user needs including contributing to the development of service user plans and always having a client focused approach and a professional and positive attitude. There are occasions where this role would require the individual to also deputise for the manager on occasion such as rota planning therefore experience to this level is desired. The position although on an initial 3-month contact has the potential for the successful individual to be taken on permanently.

In order to be considered we require the following:

  • Essential Level 3 Health and Social Care Qualification
  • Enhanced DBS (on the update service desirable)
  • Previous experience working within a similar care setting
  • Extensive experience supporting vulnerable adults with Learning Disabilities, Epilepsy, Autism, Complex Needs or Challenging Behaviours
  • Proven experience leading a team whilst remaining involved with the service daily needs
  • Prior experience deputising when required for the Manager and delegating tasks when required
  • Up-to-date mandatory training* and knowledge of current relevant legislation relating to care standards, health and safety and food hygiene
  • Clean Valid UK Driver with own transport desirable not essential
