Resilient and dedicated child care workers are required to join a local organisation supporting children and young people in a residential setting based in Frome, Somerset. This committed children's care provider requires passionate individuals to join their small, rural home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

You will be a strong and compassionate individual able to support children who have experienced sexual exploitation, bereavement, loss or trauma. You will have the resilience to deal with high pressure situations such as self-harm and challenging behaviour.

This independent organisation requires enthusiastic children's support workers to join their home supporting vulnerable children to provide the level of care they deserve.

The role:

  • Providing advice, assistance and support to young people, safeguarding their welfare at all times
  • Attending to the children's practical, physical and emotional needs
  • Ensuring the smooth-running of the home on a day-to-day basis
  • Monitoring and reviewing the young person's care plans, behaviour management and education progress
  • Enabling the young people to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential
  • Acting as a positive role model and mentor


  • Experience within a residential child care setting
  • Flexibility to work varied shift-patterns including weekends, evenings and sleep-ins
  • A willingness to help those experiencing emotional trauma and behavioural issues
  • Full UK driving licence
