Cornwall Council require an experienced, qualified Principal Social Worker, to join their Child Protection Team in Penzance. This is a locum position on a 3-month rolling contract. This high-pressured role is also highly rewarding and a chance to work in a Local Authority that is rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.

Your responsibilities as the Principle Social Worker:

  • To model partnership working with children and young people, parents/carers, families and the child's wider network of family and friends to improve their outcomes.
  • You will develop an excellent understanding of the child's lived experience and are able to convey their views and feelings through high quality practice skills in assessment, planning, intervention and review
  • Use evidence-based practice to improve the child's welfare and safety, leading to improved outcomes.

The successful candidate must have experience in:

  • You will have experience of working within a frontline statutory children and family team
  • You will have knowledge in current issues and themes related to social work with children and families
  • Undertaking social work assessments

Requirements of you as the Principle Social Worker:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
  • A valid HCPC registration
  • Full UK driving license

Location: Cornwall

Hours: 37 hours

Pay rate: £28.64
