Job description
A Local Authority in South London is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Youth Justice Service.
This is a Locum Social Work role.
The Youth Justice Service works with children and young people who get into trouble with the law.
The team work to help and support young people to move away from crime and become responsible members of the community.
The aim is to reduce offending and re-offending.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Social Worker:
- Evidence of continuing professional development aligned to any relevant Professional Competency/Capability frameworks or Knowledge and Skills Statements.
- Significant experience of front-line social work or criminal justice working with complex children or young adults.
- Deep and up to date knowledge and understanding of youth justice, children's and other relevant legislation, regulation and guidance.
- Experience of mentoring both newly qualified and experienced staff and being a subject matter expert in professional practice.
- Experience of chairing meetings involving young people, family members and/or carers and other multi-agency professionals.
- Developing strong relationships with partners, other agencies and the local community to achieve joint objectives and offer a supportive framework for young people.
Requirements of you as a Senior Social Worker:
- A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
- A valid Social Work England registration
- Have competent knowledge and experience of work within Youth Justice, Adolescents
- A valid UK Driving Licence and vehicle is required

Umbrella pay rate: £35.00
