We have an exceptional opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join a prestigious and growing organisation. This privately-owned provider is renowned for the care and support they offer to vulnerable children and young people in a residential setting.

As Deputy Manager of this residential home, you'll be supporting children with Emotional Behavioural Disorders (EBD), by creating a harmonious living environment and motivating the team to provide the finest possible care.

Role/Responsibilities


As the Deputy Manager, your primary role is to assist the Registered Manager in the running of the home by supervising and directing the staff team. To act as role model for the staff team and children and young people as well as promoting a safe and supportive environment at all times. Below is a list of some of the responsibilities to give you a general understanding of the Deputy Manager position.

  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring that a therapeutic environment is developed and maintained within the home
  • Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager
  • To plan, manage and run shifts.
  • To lead and supervise staff, as well as provide guidance and support to the staff team.
  • To ensure that the service meets minimum standards for all legislation including Ofsted and Health & Safety


Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need all of the following:

  • Experience working as a Senior Support Worker/Team Leader in a similar setting
  • NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce
  • Working towards or willing to work towards Diploma Level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care
  • Strong staff supervision, managerial and communicational skills
  • Ability to provide consistency of care and support to the young people
  • Ability to interact with a range of people/young people
  • Ability to lead a team and to deputies in the absence of the Registered Manager
