Southwark Council is looking for an experienced Locum Social Worker to join their friendly Children with Disabilities Team. What are the responsibilities for a Children with Disabilities Social Worker?

  • Managing a complex case load of children who have physical disabilities
  • You'll be required to undertake relevant assessments including C&F, writing court statements, LAC reports, reviewing care packages and presenting the cases to relevant funding panels.
  • The team's duty rota and will be responsible for managing duty tasks as they arise. The applicant must have excellent communication skills to enable good communication between service users, their families and other professional networks.

What are the requirements of a Children with Disabilities Social Worker?

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Experience of working with children who have physical disabilities is essential
  • Experience within a Looked After Children's team, or a Care Leavers team and have in depth knowledge of Child Protection, Child in Need and Looked After Child procedures
  • You will need to have a full UK driving license, with access to a vehicle.
  • A valid HCPC registration
  • A Clear, Enhanced DBS
