Charles Hunter Associates are currently assisting a highly reputable local authority to recruit for a permanent Approved Mental Health Professional to join their team in Berkshire.

This local authority is currently looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Team Leader Occupational Therapist who can effectively manage and support the day to day running of a busy, dynamic team effectively prioritising daily challenges and expectations.whilst assessing the social care needs of individuals to deliver comprehensive care plans to meet specific needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work within Their Surrey Locality Adult Social Care team. Promoting choice and control is at the heart of this opportunity.

The role and responsibilities of the Assistant Team Leader Occupational Therapist will be:


  • You will demonstrate a high level of understanding and commitment to the personalisation agenda. You will be able to demonstrate an applied knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation including the Care Act, The Mental Capacity Act and the NHS Continuing Healthcare National Framework.
  • You will be confident in making sound decisions that respond flexibly and quickly to changing needs that arise in a high-pressure environment.
  • You will be able to develop effective partnership relationships with individuals, carers and families and positive relationships with professional colleagues.
  • You will be supporting the team manager to deliver high quality personalised adult social care and supporting timely, safe and effective support.
  • You must have significant post qualification experience, including some management experience in a social care setting, and be able to demonstrate good understanding of both the health and social care agendas
  • Extensive knowledge of moving and handling, equipment provision and Disabled Facilities Grants is essential.
  • You will manage a complex caseload and be in charge of the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
