Charles Hunter Associates are working with a well-recognised Local Authority to find a Qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP).

This is a great time to join the service as they are in the process of remodelling, you will be instrumental in implementing the positives changes within their service structure. You will join a well recognised safe and effective service, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults of Berkshire. The Service has positive CQC and Ofsted reports and requires a driven Qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to drive service standards. The service prides itself on its professionalism and expertise in crisis intervention.

The responsibilities of the Approved Mental Health Professional will be:

  • Effective crisis intervention work to promote choice and self-lead assessment's to reduce relapse
  • Using professional experience to make decisions that uphold autonomy whilst recognising the social work role for safe intervention
  • Playing a role within the community team to ensure co-ordinate, appropriate assessments and support that remain person-centered and enable users to maintain their independence
  • Using legislation, guidance and reflective social work practice to ensure that key concepts and theories in social work are utilised to ensure the best possible outcomes for vulnerable adults.
  • Requires a particularly high level of knowledge skill and authority with a depth of knowledge of the safeguarding agendas for both children and adults that you are required to act with autonomy and balance the needs of individuals.
  • Knowledge of complex legal and policy frameworks as well as of mental disorders and the ability to undertake partnership working the requirement to communicate and make unpopular decisions.

The Qualified Approved Mental Health Professional will receive:

  • Regular 1-1 supervision with a qualified and practising senior Approved Mental Health Professional Lead
  • Quarterly Approved Mental Health Professional group supervision led by a well-known and recognised author and Mental Health CQC Inspector
