Job description

A North London based Local Authority is looking for an Approved Mental Health Professional to join their centralised Duty AMHP Hub. As the AMHP you will be providing continuity to the service and working closely with multiple other agencies. This role is a full-time, permanent position.

As the ideal AMHP will have extensive knowledge of mental health treatments and interventions. Whilst this is a busy team in a developing local authority, there is an extensive benefits list and incredible training and development opportunities.

Your responsibilities as the Approved Mental Health Professional:

  • Be on the rota, three days a week as part of the duty AMHP team
  • Work closely with Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, health care colleagues, clinicians, specialists, and hospitals
  • Liaise with relatives, and carers
  • Carry out Mental Health Act assessments

Requirements of you as the Approved Mental Health Professional:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
  • A valid registration with social work England
  • Previous/existing AMHP warrant
  • HCPC membership
  • Knowledge of mental health treatments and interventions as well as the Mental Health Act and Human Rights Act
  • Must hold a full UK Driving Licence

Salary: Up to £40,000
