COVID-19 - Our Approach

Charles Hunter Associates COVID-19 Guidance.

LAST UPDATE: 13th October 2020

The situation surrounding COVID-19 is changing on a daily basis when it comes to government advice. This makes it difficult to provide a consistent action plan, but we will keep this page updated at all times.

Information for Candidates –

  • It is business as usual on the frontline. Please continue to attend your assignments and / or shifts. Please be in regular liaison with your line manager to follow their instructions in regards to COVID-19 management
  • Should you be unwell with COVID-19 symptoms (persistent cough, fever and/or loss of taste or smell), then you are required to contact the agency immediately and remove yourself from your assignment. You must then get tested by accessing the NHS website HERE. Should your test return negative and your symptoms disappear then you can return to work. However on testing positive you will be required to self isolate for 14 days. If your symptoms persist you will be required to continue to stay away from work. Please keep the agency updated at all times of your results.
  • If you are sharing a household with anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 then you are required to self isolate for 14 days. You must get a test following this period and follow the above instructions.
  • Please make us aware with immediate effect if you have worked in the last 14 days in external services with any positive COVID-19 cases.
  • If you are told to self-isolate through the NHS Test and Trace or NHS Covid-19 app then you must self isolate for 14 days since you were last in contact with the person who tested for coronavirus.
  • If you have travelled to the UK from any destination that is not on the travel corridors list then you must self isolate for 14 days and not return to work in that period.
  • As an agency worker you are entitled to Statutory Sick Pay should you be PAYE or Umbrella.
  • All our clients have been contacted in regards to their COVID-19 action plans, and what PPE is available to our workers to keep them safe.
  • We must do our very best to support our vulnerable service users in this very difficult time.
  • When travelling to and from work please ensure you practice social distancing, and avoid any contact with others within a 2 metre vicinity. We recommend wearing a face covering at all times when travelling for work in all settings.
  • Please wash your hands frequently throughout the day especially when in contact with others and after travel and / or use a suitable alcohol gel.

Information for Clients –

  • We ask you to inform us immediately should there be a COVID-19 case at any of our candidate places of work.
  • Please also inform us immediately should there be any suspected cases of COVID-19 in the workplace.
  • We are doing all we can to increase registration of key social workers, support workers and nurses. This is to support you at this unprecedented time should others not be able to cover core duties.
  • We have an active video interviewing service which can facilitate face to face interviews in the cloud. This will ensure you can hire vital frontline staff where needed on a permanent or contract / temporary basis
  • You will see in this notification, the information shared with our candidates. We have asked for full compliance with Public Health England recommendations.
  • Charles Hunter Associates has robust business continuity systems in place, including remote working. As such we will be business as usual and able to support all of your needs throughout this national crisis.
